I almost brought home an abandoned pit bull today.  Funny thing, I've NEVER liked pit bulls but this one was so affectionate and was so starved for human attention.  Someone, whom I'm guessing could no longer care for him, tied his leash to the stop sign a block from my house and left him.  Four hours after I first noticed him he was still there so I took him some water and kibble.  I called the police to report him abandoned and about an hour later they came and picked him up.  I hope he finds a home, he was the friendliest pit bull I've ever run across and so eager to please.  When I was petting him he rolled onto his back and begged me to rub his tummy.  He was probably just over a year old.  Good luck buddy.
